Starting my Painting/ Ghosts

When I start a painting, I begin with a thumbnail sketch. This image comes from an unidentified photo of a woman holding a baby discovered in my family album. If I had to guess, the photo looks like it was taken in the early 1900's. After I'm satisfied with the thumbnail, I'll outline it onto a canvas. I will occasionally tweak the composition as the work progresses. I want to make this image somewhat eerie...
